Four years of web design, programming and graphic design. Two years in electronics — scoreboards and video boards, PCB production and testing, programming pick-and-place machines. Two years labouring for a switchboard company building 20–30m switchboards that power airports, schools and multi-storey buildings. The phone repairs started during the electronics job — a side activity that wouldn't let go.
Six years into running iFix, I moved into micro-soldering, data recovery and water damage. Ten years on, that's the specialism the workshop is known for — board-level work other shops won't attempt, and training other repairers across Australia who want to learn it. A few years back I was regarded as one of the top four repairers in the country.
