iFix Electronics is the Central Coast NSW workshop people bring their broken phones, MacBooks, laptops, iPads, PlayStations, Xboxes and dead hard drives to. We've been at the same Erina shop since 2010 — 16 years, over 35,000 documented repairs across every device category, with the same technicians doing the difficult work (board-level microsoldering, data recovery, liquid damage restoration) the entire time. This page exists so you can see at a glance what we do, where we cover, and how to get a device to us — whether you're around the corner in Gosford or Terrigal, or up at Wyong, Tuggerah and The Entrance, or further afield and need to post one in.

Phone repair — iPhone, Samsung, Pixel, every brand

Phones are roughly half of what walks through the door. iPhones lead the pack by volume — over 1,100 documented iPhone screen replacements, 316 iPhone batteries, plus countless charge ports, Face ID issues, water damage and "won't turn on" diagnosis jobs. Samsung Galaxy phones are next — 286 documented screens across the S, A and Note families plus the foldables. Google Pixels (every generation), older Android phones and the occasional Nokia, Huawei or OPPO round it out.

Standard iPhone screen turnaround is same-day — drop it before 11 AM, pick up by close of business. Samsung Galaxy and Pixel screens are usually same-day too on common models (S22, S23, S24, A-series, Pixel 6/7/8/9); older or current-gen flagships might need a part ordered in. Anything we can't quote on the phone or in person within five minutes is unusual.

Cracked phone screen and want to skip the walk-in? Call (02) 4311 6146 or book a slot online — we'll confirm the part is in stock before you make the trip to Erina.

MacBook and PC laptop repair

Laptop work is the second-biggest category — and it's where our microsoldering background pays off. Most general repair shops can do screen swaps and battery replacements; far fewer can deal with the harder stuff: water-damaged MacBooks where the logic board needs board-level cleaning and component-level rework, flexgate-affected 2018-2019 MacBook Pros, the soldered-SSD chip-off recovery needed when a post-2018 MacBook won't boot, or PC laptops with motherboard faults that other shops have already declared dead.

Brand coverage is comprehensive — every MacBook generation from 2012 Retina through current M4, every Dell Inspiron/Latitude/XPS/Precision/Alienware, every HP Pavilion/Envy/Spectre/EliteBook/Omen, every Lenovo ThinkPad/IdeaPad/Yoga/Legion, every Acer Aspire/Swift/Predator/Nitro, every ASUS VivoBook/ZenBook/ROG/TUF, Microsoft Surface in all its variants, plus the occasional MSI gaming, Razer, Gigabyte Aero or LG Gram. If your laptop runs Windows, ChromeOS or macOS, we work on it.

iPad, console and other device repair

iPads are a high-frequency category — 637 documented screen and digitiser replacements across standard iPads, iPad Mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro (every generation). PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S HDMI port replacements come in regularly enough that we keep both the leaded-solder rework gear and the genuine HDMI-19 ports on the shelf — see our PS5/Xbox HDMI port repair page for the full story on how that one specific repair works. Beyond that: Apple Watches, AirPods (charge-case issues), Nintendo Switches (charge port, joycon drift, screen), occasional Kindle, Kobo and Garmin handhelds, and one-off jobs like the 2008 Ford Focus instrument cluster that came in last month.

Data recovery — hard drives, SSDs, phones, dead MacBooks

Data recovery deserves its own category because it's both the most stressful repair customers walk in with (years of family photos, business records, university theses) and the one with the biggest range of difficulty — from a 10-minute file-system fix to a multi-week soldered-storage chip-off recovery on a dead MacBook. Over 320 documented data recovery cases across phones, external hard drives (Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba), USB sticks and dead laptops. Forensic-grade work for solicitors and insurance assessors when needed.

One important rule: if the device has been liquid-damaged, do not turn it on, do not put it in rice, do not plug it in. The most common cause of unrecoverable data is the customer trying to power it up multiple times after the spill — each attempt corrodes the board further. Get it to us before doing anything else.

Suburbs we regularly cover across the Central Coast

The workshop is in Erina, central to the Coast — but customers drive in from across the whole region:

Gosford LGA: Erina, Gosford, Point Frederick, East Gosford, Springfield, Wamberal, Terrigal, Avoca Beach, North Avoca, MacMasters Beach, Copacabana, Kincumber, Empire Bay, Daleys Point, Saratoga, Yattalunga, Davistown.
Woy Woy peninsula: Woy Woy, Ettalong Beach, Umina Beach, Booker Bay, Blackwall, Pearl Beach, Patonga, Killcare, Hardys Bay, Pretty Beach.
Wyong LGA / Northern Coast: The Entrance, Bateau Bay, Long Jetty, Tuggerah, Wyong, Berkeley Vale, Toukley, Lake Munmorah, San Remo, Budgewoi, Norah Head, Wadalba, Warnervale.
Hinterland and western Coast: Niagara Park, Lisarow, Ourimbah, Chittaway Bay, Tumbi Umbi, Glenning Valley, Bensville.

If you're outside this list but still on the Coast or in the surrounding Hunter / Lake Macquarie / North Shore Sydney areas, you're still in our normal catchment — the workshop is straightforward to reach from anywhere south of Hawks Nest and north of Hornsby.

Not local to the Coast? Post it in

About a quarter of our work comes from postal repair — Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, the Hunter Valley, Canberra, the South Coast, and interstate. The workflow is straightforward: call or message on (02) 4311 6146 with the device model and what's gone wrong, we confirm the quote and parts availability, you post the device tracked and insured for its replacement value (typically $20-30 from most metro areas), we do the repair within 24-48 hours of arrival on stocked parts, and we ship back tracked the same day the repair completes. Round-trip is usually 4-7 business days depending on your location. For high-value devices and forensic data recovery work, we use courier pickup for added security.

Common questions

Where are you located on the Central Coast?

Our workshop is at Shop 3, 221 The Entrance Road, Erina NSW 2250 — about 200 metres past Erina Fair on the eastern side of The Entrance Road. We're open 9 AM to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday and 9 AM to 2 PM Saturday. Most repairs are walk-in, no appointment needed; for board-level microsoldering or data recovery jobs we'd recommend calling first on (02) 4311 6146 so we can confirm bench availability and turnaround.

Do you do repairs in Gosford, Terrigal, Kincumber, Woy Woy, or other Coast suburbs?

Yes — we're the workshop most of the Central Coast brings their broken devices to. Customers regularly drive from Gosford, Terrigal, Kincumber, MacMasters Beach, Avoca, Woy Woy, Ettalong, Umina Beach, Killcare, Bateau Bay, Long Jetty, The Entrance, Wyong, Tuggerah, Toukley, Berkeley Vale, Lake Munmorah, San Remo and Wadalba. We don't operate satellite locations — everything is done at the Erina workshop because that's where the bench equipment, microscopes, soldering stations and parts stock all live. Most customers find Erina easier than people expect once they realise we're right opposite Erina Fair.

How long has iFix been operating on the Central Coast?

16 years as of 2026 — we opened in 2010 and have logged over 35,000 documented repairs in that time. We've been at the current Erina workshop since the move from the original Gosford location. The same team has done microsoldering and component-level work the entire time, which is unusual in this industry — most repair shops either don't touch board-level work at all or churn through technicians too quickly to build the experience needed for it.

Do you offer same-day repair on the Central Coast?

Yes for stocked-part repairs — iPhone screens, iPad screens, common Samsung Galaxy screens, iPhone batteries, common PC laptop panels (Dell/HP/Lenovo/Acer/ASUS 13-15.6"), and PlayStation HDMI port replacements. Drop the device in before 11 AM and most stocked-part repairs are ready by close of business. For MacBook screens (especially current-gen 14"/16" mini-LED), unusual gaming laptop panels, board-level microsoldering and data recovery, turnaround depends on what we find and whether parts need to be ordered — we always quote the actual timeline before you commit.

What if I'm on the Coast but can't get to Erina?

Two options. First, post it to us — we receive devices via Australia Post tracked daily from across the Coast and from Sydney, Newcastle and interstate. Round-trip is usually 3-5 business days for stocked-part repairs and we ship back same-day after repair. Second, for board-level work and data recovery where the device is too valuable to post, occasionally we'll arrange a courier pickup at customer's cost. Call (02) 4311 6146 and we'll work out the best path for your situation.

Do you compete with Apple's Genius Bar pricing?

On standard work we're usually 30-50% cheaper than Apple's out-of-warranty repair pricing — particularly for iPhone screens, iPhone batteries, MacBook battery replacement and MacBook keyboard repair. On things Apple doesn't offer at all (board-level microsoldering, data recovery from logic boards Apple has declared 'unrepairable', liquid damage restoration on MacBooks Apple has quoted a $2,000+ logic board swap on), we're often the only path available short of buying a new device. For straight-warranty repairs, AppleCare is still the right answer if you've got it — we'll tell you so.

Is there parking at the Erina workshop?

Yes — there's a small customer car park directly in front of the shop and additional parking in the side service road off The Entrance Road. If those are full, Erina Fair's main car park is a 200m walk away and is free for the first three hours. Coming from the north via the M1, exit at Tumbi Umbi/Bateau Bay and follow signs to Erina; from the south via the M1, exit at Kariong and follow Central Coast Highway through Gosford to Erina.
